Iz so NYC

As I mentioned before, I was a typical kid born in NYC. I moved to Long Island when I was 6 years old and my family has lived there since. However, I am in NYC quite often. I love to explore restaurants, museums, and see old friends. I still go to my favorite bakery that I would visit after I saw my Celiac doctor when I was a little girl. Every time I am home from school, my family goes to Bar Italia for lunch or dinner—our favorite Italian place with a Gluten-Free Menu… along with MANY others!

NYC is a place where anyone who is Gluten-Free can feel right at home—you are in a city filled with opportunity everywhere. I have always felt comfortable being Gluten-Free at the many New York City restaurants I’ve been too, and I would recommend them all to my entire Gluten-Free community.

However, it is always exciting to find a new Gluten-Free spot. In the last few years, I have found a crepery I live for, an amazing sushi spot with guaranteed Gluten-Free sauces, a Mexican spot, and a bakery that is to die for! In my About Me page, I mention a girl who also had Celiac from my sleepaway camp. 12 years later, she is now like family to me. Emma and I explore NYC from uptown to downtown, and find the best of the best spots to share with our Gluten-Free friends and family.

Although we can’t resist going to our most classic, favorite places—it is always fun to branch out and discover the unknown. Once you are completely comfortable being Gluten-Free, I encourage you all to find the unknown goods out there…. bring a friend who has either been diagnosed for years, or has recently been diagnosed and have some fun together!

My old & classic, but most favorite spots!

If you ever visit NYC and find a great Gluten-Free spot, please send me a picture and a name. I'll try it out and add it to Gluten Free Iz! :)
